Tot Shabbat: Rosh Hashanah Edition

  • Quarton Lake Park, Birmingham (map)

After a successful first round of in-person Tot Shabbats last month, we're back once again, and we're so excited to celebrate Shabbat and early Rosh Hashanah with you and your kiddos!

Join us for Shabbat songs led by Rabbi Jeff, Keith, and Marni, as we adhere to a few guidelines (below) to keep everybody safe and have a physically distant, socially connected experience!

Families with young children are invited to join us for one of two sessions on Saturday, September 12:

Our first session will begin at 9:30 AM, and our second session will begin at 10:30AM, both taking place at Quarton Lake Park in Birmingham.

Both gatherings are limited to the first 7 FAMILIES to RSVP.

EDIT: The 10:30 session is now FULL! There is still room at 9:30, and we'll start a waiting list for 10:30 in case we have any cancellations.

As we offer programming in-person during the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to ensure maximum safety and comfort for our participants. We are continuing to monitor case numbers in Oakland County and will follow best practices set out by the CDC and Governor Whitmer. We appreciate your cooperation with the following guidelines:

1) To reserve your spot, RSVP to marisa@meetyouatthewell.org, letting us know which session you'd like to attend how many people are in your family.

2) Everyone attending must wear a mask. Please wear your masks while walking to your blankets (more on that below). Once you're there, you may remove your mask when more than 6 feet from other families, though you're welcome to keep your mask on at all times for the safety of yourself and others.

3) Each family will have an assigned blanket that we'll provide, which will be stationed 10 feet from other families. When you arrive, you'll find your name on a blanket - complete with a Rosh Hashanah-themed take-home craft and snack pack. We ask that your family remain in this area for the duration of Tot Shabbat. Family areas will be spaced 20+ feet from our songleaders.

4) We know how exciting it is to see our friends after so long, but we ask that both kiddos and parents refrain from hugging and sitting or playing close together. You're welcome to remain at the park after Tot Shabbat to safely gather and play with friends as you feel comfortable.

Questions? Drop a note to marisa@meetyouatthewell.org!

We're incredibly grateful to the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation for their support of our Family Ed activities!
