A workshop on effective communication in online spaces in an era of disinformation and online trolling.
Is there that one person on social media who always seems to post inflammatory things? Do you grapple with if it’s even worth responding and how to elicit meaningful dialogue?
In the midst of an election year, a global pandemic, a rise in hate speech and a national reckoning on racial injustice, the need to communicate effectively online is more critical than ever. Social media is an important tool to spread awareness. We’re told to use our voice on social media, call out hate when we see it and advocate for causes we believe in… but communicating online can be challenging without the inherent trust present in an in-person conversation.
In an increasingly virtual world, especially at a time when in-person interaction is limited, how do you communicate effectively about the issues that matter most?
Join AJC ACCESS Detroit, Detroit Center for Civil Discourse, and The Well for an interactive, virtual workshop on effectively addressing online tension and advocating for issues you care about.
Join Ariana Mentzel, Managing Director, Detroit Center for Civil Discourse and Julie Katz, Assistant Director, AJC Atlanta about best practices for effective communication in the virtual space. We’ll also take a look at how AJC, the leading global Jewish advocacy organization, uses social media as an advocacy tool to address policy issues. Don’t miss out! Link shared upon RSVP.
